NEW YORK (Reuters) - Wall Street's main indexes plunged on Thursday in their sixth straight day of declines with the S&P 500 confirming its fastest correction in history as the rapid global spread of coronavirus intensified investor worries about economic growth.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1,197.43 points, or 4.44%, to 25,760.16, the S&P 500 lost 137.99 points, or 4.43%, to 2,978.4 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 414.30 points, or 4.61%, to 8,566.48.

I did in case of some stocks that were already undervalued (on my opinion) before the virus news. But I entered with small money: about 0.5-1% of my bank per position.

Mr Luu Hung you are right and I say if there was a cure for the Ebola virus in no time than why is there no cure for AIDS thus far or there is a cure but many will lose big monies because they make trillions with medical supplies such as anti-viral drugs. This world is evil and filled with greed.

The Ebola virus which broke out in the Congo a few years ago was the 2nd deadliest disease worlwide which killed thousands but a cure was discovered. So what's taking so long to get a cure for Covid19. There is no cure for fluenza, it was there before and it will always exist and we gotta live with that but I get a feeling that this Covid19 is man made and if so then whoever is behind this should be charged for crime against humanity. If a poor community ate something in China which cause the virus like they say then governments and the world health organisation should start taking the poor seriously. For now let's stop blaming each other and hope that a cure will be found so that this virus will come to an end and we all can go about our lives.

Influenza isn't a new virus. COVID-19 is just getting started spreading and is only about 6 weeks in. The flu has a fatality rate between .05% and .1%, whereas COVID-19's is somewhere around 2% or more. So around 40x more deadly, along with being super contagious. Think this through people!

but what you can do with it, after all you have to live with it and you can use precautions, if you will loose all money due to this at the end you dont even have the money to cure it because nothing comes without money

also CV deayh rate per cdc on reported numbers for ages 50 and under is 1.5 percent which is skewed high because of unreported infection. deaths are harder to hide so that number shouldnt have much variance in being in accurate

The virus was just an excuse to dump assets. Too many were on the long side. By itself, the virus will eventually die down and maybe there will be some aftereffects, but by and large, I think people wanted to dump shares and take profits. People holding now are left holding the bag and that is terrible.
